What Is Arcus StoneCoat?
StoneCoat is a specialty field-applied architectural limestone coating used to create surfaces that resemble natural cut, honed or carved stone. Rather than installing individual stone units, trained applicators shape and finish the material directly on a compatible prepared substrate.
Met Exteriors supplies and installs StoneCoat for residential and commercial architectural applications in Edmonton and across Canada. The system can be used for façades, entrances, columns, wall panels, fireplace features and other custom details where a natural limestone appearance is desired.
The finished appearance depends on the specified texture, joint pattern, colour, substrate preparation and applicator technique. Samples and mock-ups should be reviewed before large areas are completed.
StoneCoat Applications
StoneCoat can be used to create architectural limestone effects on suitable interior and exterior surfaces, including building façades, entrance features, columns, window and door surrounds, fireplace features, accent walls and custom architectural elements.
Exterior applications require more than the decorative finish. Substrate stability, moisture management, flashings, terminations, movement joints and transitions to adjacent cladding must be properly designed and prepared. StoneCoat should not be used to conceal unresolved water intrusion or unstable substrates.

StoneCoat colour and finish selection should be based on the current ArcusStone product samples and an approved project mock-up. We are keeping StoneCoat selections separate from the Fine/Medium Lime Plaster and MarbleCoat palettes so different product colour systems are not mixed. The existing Met Exteriors media library does not currently contain a clearly identified complete StoneCoat colour chart, so no unverified colours have been added to this page.
